We are a team of specialist commercial legal advisors.

Our passion is helping small and medium-sized New Zealand businesses to develop business operations to take advantage of digital enablement, especially in the world we are now living in.

The last few months have been incredibly challenging for us all.  We’ve witnessed massive social and economic upheaval in this country, and the impact of the COVID-19 crisis has been no more acutely felt than by our SME sector – countless businesses up and down the country are under real financial strain, and while some might come out the other end relatively unscathed, many will not and others have sadly already closed or are in the process of doing so.

During this time, we’ve been advising businesses on a host of legal issues that have sprung up. At the same time it is creating massive opportunities for many businesses. For some it is through providing new services to a now more digital market. For others it is discovering how they can work with staff at home, and the reduced costs, and improved staff satisfaction, that can provide. These all lead to further obligation and opportunities, all of which have legal elements.

Interestingly, many of the issues we’ve advised on are the same as those typically faced by companies, pivoting towards an e-commerce business model.  In fact, COVID-19 seems to have been the catalyst which has forced the hand of many businesses down this path.

Over the coming months, we’ll be discussing these legal issues in a series of informative, easy-to-digest ProAct articles and video clips.  We hope they help you in continuing to steer your business out of the crisis, perhaps into a more expansive digital operation going forward.

If you’ve got any questions or issues, or if you just want to have a chat, please ask as we’d love to talk with you.
